"the Real Problem With Coffee Part 2

2. Is your coffee roasted? Well, chances are all the coffee beans you've ever brewed were black right? That means of course they were roasted. What's wrong with roasting you say? Well, several things.
For starters; there is a chemical found in green "non roasted" coffee beans called coffeine and it's only when we roast them at high temperatures that those green beans turn black and the coffeine gets converted to caffeine. If you notice the only difference in the word is the "O" in Coffeine is now an "A" in Caffeine. Subtle change I know but one that takes a highly effective antioxidant and turns it into a stimulant. Once again a very compelling reason to go get your hands on a world class coffee alternative.

3. Do you want to bathe your insides in acid? Another often overlooked challenge with coffee is that also when we roast it is when we produce all those nasty acids that give us indigestion, heart burn and yes even constipation. You see in green coffee beans there are a number of really good for you constituents many of which are known as Polyphenols. However once again when we roast those little green beans we break down the good chemicals and they become the acid that we all know and dread.
So, unless you plan on switching to drinking green coffee beans (don't bother, I've tried it, it was nasty) you are going to want to find a really high quality coffee alternative as soon as possible.
